Civil engineers are installing 78 concrete piles 32 meters deep to support the new healthcare giant in Puerto Vallarta. It will have 180 inpatient beds and 62 specialties. This major project aims to address the healthcare gap outside the state capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most ambitious hospital infrastructure project in the recent history of the coastal region has officially begun to take shape. On land belonging to the University Center of the Coast (CUCosta) of the University of Guadalajara in Puerto Vallarta, earthmoving and deep foundation work has begun in earnest to bring the new Civil Hospital of the Coast to life. This project is designed to transform the public health system and the training of medical specialists in the interior of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction site is experiencing intense technical activity focused on ensuring the structural stability of the complex. Engineering teams are currently carrying out the piling work, which consists of the strategic placement of 78 reinforced concrete piles that will reach a depth of 32 meters. Similarly, clearing and the installation of riprap filters are being carried out on the site. This institutional effort is being jointly promoted by the Rector of the University of Guadalajara, Karla Alejandrina Planter P\u00e9rez, and the Governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical and academic megaproject has an allocated budget of 1.197 billion pesos and will be built on a total area of \u200b\u200b35,846 square meters. The building will consist of a ground floor and three upper levels, designed to house 13 specialized medical care units, high-tech areas for scientific research and teaching, and an installed capacity of 180 inpatient beds and 100 outpatient beds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond expanding the regional catalog with 62 medical specialties and subspecialties, this hospital will mark the formal debut of the Teaching Hospital Network model in the state. The main objective of this collaborative strategy between the State Government and the leading university is to decentralize highly specialized medicine\u2014traditionally concentrated in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area\u2014guaranteeing access to healthcare for the population of Puerto Vallarta and surrounding municipalities, while fostering professional development by allowing new medical professionals to train and practice in their home regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
