Puerto Vallarta Celebrates Diversity During Pride Week

Puerto Vallarta is widely known as the gay-friendly vacation destination in Mexico, and the month May will be dressed in its best rainbow attire for an entire week of Vallarta Pride 2018.

A whole range of activities sponsored by the organizing committee and ACT LGBT, a civil association that unifies LGBT entrepreneurs in the city, are supported by various sponsors and previously managed to gather 17 thousand attendees in 2017 alone.  These activities include cultural events, a film festival, street parties, parades, health advocates, etc.

This year, the large agenda of events between May 20 and May 27, 2018, are the perfect pretext to enjoy a few days in this ocean and sand paradise while you stay in a luxury vacation rental.

As a prelude to the festive spirit of Vallarta Pride, on May 17 there will be a march for the occasion of Global Day Against Homophobia. The march will join similar marches around the world in commemorating the anniversary of the elimination of homosexuality from the catalog of mental illnesses by the WHO World Health Organization. The march extends from the Sheraton to Los Arcos downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The beginning of this cultural and festive week will be marked by the walk at dusk on Sunday, May 20, which serves as a memorial for the people who lost the fight to AIDS and acts to promote awareness about the struggle against this disease and the importance of prevention.

Of course, the traditional pride parade will take place at dusk on Thursday, May 24 through the streets of Vallarta with the presence of the actress and singer Lorena Herrera, who will serve as the grand marshal of the event.

These are just some of the events you can enjoy during your stay in a luxurious vacation home in Puerto Vallarta on a trip that celebrates the pride of defending equality among all people. Come and enjoy Puerto Vallarta at its best!
